  • The all-inclusive office visit copayment is a benefit that has saved Blue Option members a substantial amount of money over the years. When members visit a participating in-network provider, they pay one copayment for all covered services performed in the doctor’s office on the same date when billed by the physician. This benefit is available with all plans that have a copayment. Best of all, there are no dollar maximums!

• BlueCross Medicare Advantage 2024 NABIP Reimbursement Requirements
  • BlueCross will reimburse external contracted agents for the discounted cost of the 2024 NABIP course ($90) if they meet the following requirements:
  • Complete the 2024 Certifications by September 1, 2023 (in order to complete certifications you must complete NABIP)
  • Enroll a minimum of 10 2024 BlueCross Medicare Advantage plans with a 1/1/2024 effective date

• All SC Hospitals Now In-Network for BlueCross MA Plans
  • BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Medicare Advantage is excited to announce that the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is in-network. With the addition of MUSC Health, all South Carolina hospitals are now in-network.

Please join HAP for a required training session to learn everything you need to know about our 2023 HAP Medicare Product Certification. Attendance of these meetings will satisfy the Face to Face or Webinar requirement for Medicare Advantage once you complete the online course through Miramar. Choose the session that is most convenient for you and your team by viewing the Training and Events calendar.
HAP will reimburse $100 for certification, if you submit 10 new to HAP Medicare Advantage applications for a 1/1/2023 effective date and they stay on the books for 90 days.

AHIP and NABIP Certification Testing

AEP is right around the corner and you can complete your 2024 certification/recertification via Humana’s MarketPoint University. Humana is offering an option for agents between AHIP and NABIP certification testing. It is important to understand the differences:

AHIP – $125 fee with 3 attempts to achieve a passing score of 90% or higher. Agents can purchase an additional 3 attempts if needed. English and Spanish versions are available. CE credits can be purchased at an additional cost. This is the most universally accepted certification option among Medicare Advantage carriers so your passing score should be transferable to any other Medicare Advantage carriers you are appointed with.

NABIP – $90 fee with 6 attempts to achieve a passing score of 85% or higher. Spanish version is not available, only English. CE credits are included in the initial cost. This certification option is relatively new and only accepted by a handful of other major carriers, so your passing score may not be transferable to all other Medicare Advantage carriers you are appointed with.

• The South Carolina 2023 AEP Academy registration process is now OPEN!  Humana has finalized the locations for all of the meetings coming this September (except Greenwood), so please find the meeting that best works with your schedule and SIGN UP TODAY!!  If you previously “saved the date” for one of these events, you still need to complete the registration process. Find all events listed on the “Events Calendar”
• Changes have been made to the First Look 2023 website since the initial release. It’s important to review the newly added individual Medicare plan and benefit information. Final 2023 plan details will be coming soon. The most recent updates include:
